Mumpsy @ Virgin Megastore
Mumpsy played a free show last night at Virgin Megastore in Downtown Disney along with fellow Orlando peeps Mouse Fire.
Mumpsy was playing to promote their new release Cat & Canary which is available at Virgin Megastore and many other retailers.
After the show we had beers at House of Blues and Phil had a shrimp po boy.
Thanks to Mouse Fire, Daniel and everyone at Virgin for having us out. Enjoy the pics..

You Love To Hate
Here's some pics from the You Love To Hate event last night at Say It Loud! in Orlando. Overall a fun event with free beer, good food (i heard), and some nice artwork (Chris Musina's work was mysteriously missing from the show). Attached Hands played a good set. Too bad the police shut it down early! Thanks to the organizers still for a great event.

Be Excellent To Each Other
Hopefully everyone has had time to start breaking those silly new year resolutions and you're back to your old bad habits...the ones that make you all the cool ass people that you are.
So, here's the deal with Post*Records...
Sweet Dick Dude Tour> Yep...Mumpsy is making the rounds and visiting some of the finest cities in Florida this week along with Tres Bien! and Win Win Winter. It's called the Sweet Dick Dude Tour and it also features some special guests.
Here's the dates:
01.17.08 Fuel Coffee House (Jacksonville, FL) w/ Jonathan Appleseed
01.18.08 Big Daddy's (Tallahassee, FL)
01.19.08 The Atlantic (Gainesville, FL)
01.20.08 Smiling Dog Saloon (Fort Myers, FL) w/ Fake Proplems
01.21.08 The Pour House (Ft Lauderdale, FL) w/ Dooms de Pop
01.22.08 Copper Rocket (Maitland, FL) w/ Call It Radar
...Be sure to come out and party with some dudes, some chicks, and all their sweet dicks.
Because Somehow Orphans Seem Cuter Than Regular Kids> Our friends started a new label in Orlando called Sleepy Bird Orphanage. They are releasing albums from Happy Valley, Crutch & The Giant Junshi, and others. And in classic Post*Records fashion, we will be releasing a split compilation together in the spring. Look out for that one...it will rock your balls off!
Sufjan Stevens Wishes He Was Mumpsy> Who can blame the dude?? Sufjan Stevens had this Xmas Song Xchange contest and he picked Mumpsy's song Left Along On Christmas Day as his favorite in the garage band category. It's available for your aural pleasure on the Asthmatic Kitty website...take a listen!
Panda, No Panda> So if you are in Osaka, Japan you can check out these dudes. If you live outside of Japan, you can still check out Panda, No Panda because Post*Records is releasing their upcoming 7" called The Butterfly Battle. Panda, No Panda is Kebin, Shingo, and Dabey. You know a band is the real deal when they have a ganguro hype man, giant frankenstein costumes, and perform synth-pop covers of Iron Maiden and the Misfits. The album will be out soon, so stay tuned yo!
Kingsbury is a Busy Bunch of Animals> After a brief hibernation, those cuddly teddy bears known as Kingsbury are awake and hard at work recording a new album! Does that mean no live shows?? Fuck no. Peep these 2 upcoming dates with People Noise (ex VHS or BETA):
02.28.08 @ Backbooth (Orlando, FL)
02.29.08 @ New World Brewery (Ybor City, FL)
Bigger Than The Cloverfield Monster> The Bad Spellers are unleashing some live shows on adoring fans in Tokyo...here's the deal:
01.26.08 Gamuso (Asagaya, Tokyo) w/ Sub, The Loyal We, Tyler Ensrude
02.09.08 35 Curry-Gon (Fussa-shi, Tokyo) w/ BROOM DUSTER KAN and Tyler Ensrude
Cat & Canary, No Avocado> Yeah, I know we told you it was called Avocado but Mumpsy changed the name of their new album to Cat & Canary...I asked them why and they said avocados are too high in fat. Don't worry, it still sounds freakin amazing! The pop hooks are there but the new and improved full-band sound gives extra depth to the catchy songwriting that we've all come to expect from Mumpsy.
Remember that music is about the community around you...we all create the scene wherever we are. Please come out and support! If you are too far away, check out our website or our blog or our photoblog. And do your best to support music, play music, and have fun wherever you are.
